Join our esteemed panelists as they explore the interplay between the Controlled Substances Act and Prop 64, aka The Adult Use of Marijuana Act. Our panelists will discuss compliance and federal banking issues, and explore how the conflicting legal landscapes affect the ability of medical marijuana businesses to seek federal bankruptcy protection. The program will highlight recent bankruptcy court rulings on the issue of whether state-sanctioned marijuana growers and dispensaries are eligible for bankruptcy relief, and the current position of the US Trustee. Our panelists will also advise on the duties of lawyers and accountants and how to effectively counsel clients about these issues.
