Insider Perspective: Bankruptcy Law Clerks on Legal Research

Join us for a lively conversation with local law clerks about legal and factual research. They agree that the Supreme Court and Ninth Circuit are binding authority. But can they agree on which research service is best? What are the best secondary sources? What are the limitations to Westlaw, Lexis, etc.? Do you have to read every crossed t and dotted i in every case you cite? For that matter, do you "cite" authority or "cite to" it? When confronted with a complicated matter of first impression, where do you start? We can't promise you'll leave with definitive answers to these questions, but we can promise research tips and tricks and, at the least, 1 hour of general MCLE credit.
